Weekly Beauty Tip - Lavender Bliss

lavender bouquetLavender is a wonderful herb and has been a mainstay of the skin care industry for centuries, and for good reason. This little herb is a beauty powerhouse. No wonder the French are known for being gorgeous people (and why we use it in our products). Visiting the lavender fields of Provence would be so amazing.

 #1. The aroma of lavender Is intoxicating and delicate. Try putting a handful of dried lavender in a pretty vase or dish on by your bed at night for a relaxing retreat. The science behind it - the scent of lavender increases the alpha waves areas of the brain the control relaxation. That would be a wonderful way to fall asleep.

 #2. How about a lavender face mask? Mix 2-3 drops of lavender essential oil with 2 Tbsp plain yogurt. Apply to a clean dry face and leave on for 10-15 min. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.  Lavender has bacteria killing properties. Doing this mask once a week should clear up minor acne problems.

#3.  Lavender baths are notorious for being relaxing and they’re easy to do/make. Mix 1 part dried lavender with 2 parts Epsom salts in a jar. Shake vigorously. You may add a few drops of lavender essential oil to increase the aroma if you like. Add a couple of tablespoons to your bath water, then soak and enjoy.
