I really dislike the dark spots on my face. Each time I look in a mirror I am constantly reminded of how poorly I’ve treated my skin. What I wouldn’t give to have a smooth, flawless complexion. I have a few friends who are blessed with such skin and they are truly radiant.
I love my dark skin and accept some of the issues that come from not taking care of it. Dark spots or hyperpigmentation occurs as a result of trauma to the skin. As the skin heals it scars. When the scar fades the pigment in the area darkens.
So how does one treat the dark spots? Well first and foremost to remember is to be patient. Results will come, but not overnight. Here are some tips that will help.
-Treat scars as soon as they happen. Using vitamin E will go a long way to healing scars
-Don’t pick at acne or old scars (I am so bad for this)
-Clean face thoroughly. Make sure you get everything off
- Avoid touching your face except to clean it or apply makeup
-Use a honey mask to help fade dark spots. Apply on clean face and wash off after 10-15 minutes
-Before going to bed dab lemon juice on your spots, only on the spots.
