It's late spring and the mosquitoes (a.k.a blood-sucking spawns of satan) are out and they're not messing around. The weather has been mostly mild which gives these annoying little creatures so much freedom. That coupled with a low supply of natural predators (where's a bat when I need one), they are in huge numbers and I've been bit all over.
The bites are bad enough, but the incessant itch is really hard to bare. One of the best ways to calm itchy skin is to soak in an oatmeal bath.
Grind up 1/2 cup of oatmeal and add to your bath while it is filling. You could add a few drops of lavender essential oil which is very soothing to the skin and the senses. Submerse yourself in the warm water ad soak for 15-20 minutes.
This is great after a day of working in the garden etc. and is also good if you just have dry skin and need some TLC. Whatever the cause try this bath out. If you have any suggestions to improve on this, let us know in the comment section below.
