Get Your Glow On

Most of us want beautiful glowing skin. There are some people with absolutely gorgeous skin and we think to ourselves, maybe they’re just born with it. While genetics plays a role in our skin types, etc. the condition of our skin is really dependent on how we treat it. It really comes down to cause and effect. Here are some habits to follow to help you get your glow on.

  • Bathe in warm, not hot water, using mild cleansers or real soap. Hot water feels good but is very drying for our skin.
  • Use a good moisturizer. I can’t stress this enough. The elements are not nice to us and we need to replenish lost moisture and keep it locked in.
  • Sun Protection. Whether you live in a temperate climate or in the tropics, sun protection is necessary. Skin cancer is no joke. Protect yourself whenever you go out.
  • Drink plenty of pure, clean water. When we’re dehydrated it shows in our skin.
  • Get sufficient sleep. Sometimes we have deadlines with work or school and are forced to pull an all-nighter (or two), but that is not sustainable and will be horrible for your body and your skin. And let’s face it, having large bags under our eyes due to lack of sleep is not attractive. Make sure you get your necessary quota of rest and sleep.
  • Reduce stress. I know, easier said than done, but it can happen. Try claiming a few minutes everyday by yourself to just breathe. Don’t let FOMO keep you in high stress mode trying to keep up with everything and everyone.
  • Eat well. Glowing skin starts from the inside. Eating a proper, well-balanced diet is one of the best ways to get that glow. Remember garbage in – garbage out.
