Yogurt is great for your skin. Thick creamy Greek yogurt has been carefully crafted for centuries. It was traditionally made with full fat sheep’s milk or cow’s milk and typically has less sugar, less carbohydrates, and more protein. It also contains lactic acid and alpha-hydroxy that smoothes out rough, dry skin and also dissolves dirt and dead skin particles lodged in pores. Simply slathering a thin layer of yogurt on a clean face and allowing it to sit for 20 minutes then rinsing clean with tepid water is often enough to coax cell turnover and leave your face feeling smooth and renewed. Yogurt contains several nutrients that make it beneficial and well suited for use on your skin.
Make sure you use plain unsweetened yogurt for your facial masks. Additives can cause break outs or allergic reactions. Here are some recipes to try. For smoothing out rough skin try:
Mix together and apply to a clean face massaging gently to exfoliate. Leave on 10-15 minutes then rinse with tepid water and pat dry. Follow up with a gentle toner and moisturizer. If you're suffering from acne break outs try:
Mix all ingredients together well. Apply to a clean face and let sit for 30 minutes. Rinse gently with warm water and pat dry. Follow with a good toner and moisturizer. If you have dull skin try:
Mash strawberries well into a small bowl. Add yogurt and honey and mix well. Apply to a clean face and let sit for 30 minutes. Rinse gently with warm water and pat dry. Finish with a gentle toner and light moisturizer.
