Beauty On The Red Carpet

mars 05, 2014

This past Sunday, many tuned in to see the splendor on the red carpet. The Oscars is such a popular event and years ago I would be among the many tuned in to see the gorgeous gowns and play critic on the ones I liked and the ones I didn’t. I marveled at the stars looking their best, from head to toe.

I briefly tuned in this year, for old time’s sake. The gowns are still lovely, (Portia de Rossi and Amy Adams, to name a few, were  absolutely stunning), but now I’m more intrigued by their skin. Sorry it’s an occupational hazard.  The make-up is perfect and their skin appears flawless. How do they get that look?

I found that Jennifer Lawrence uses epsom salt baths and also a dandelion and chamomile tea combo. Dandelion tea is a gentle diuretic so it helps to prevent water retention and flushes out toxins. Actress Lupita Nyong’o uses natural oils like avocado and kukui nut on her face. Denise Richards uses a mask made of avocado and olive oil.

These are all great tips that I might add to my own regime. I may not be strutting my stuff down a red carpet anytime soon (more like rushing anxiously on hard wood floors), but I am always looking for natural ways to look my best. I’ll let you know how it goes.
